<SIGH>

Our baby sitter has had to leave town to stay with her mother-in-law for the next two weeks.  This has thrown our whole world in an uproar.  Katye’s going here, this person is at our house for Camden to get of the bus and it’s different everyday.

Today it was my dad’s turn to be at our house when Camden gets off the bus.  At 2:33 PM I received a call from the school that the bus driver couldn’t drop off Camden because no one was at our house.  <COMMENCE SICK FEELING IN MY STOMACH>

Luckily, the bus driver was going to the middle school at about 3pm for her second run and I was able to meet here there.  Even though my dad is the one who was supposed to get Cam, I’m still just sick about it.  I mean, I work with my dad.  I should have gone to his office at 2pm and made sure he was on his way, etc, etc.

It’s the first time I’ve “forgotten” my kid and it won’t be the last time I screw up, but it still makes me sick to realize that I wasn’t there for him.  He’s taking it better than I am.  He was grinning ear to ear when I got him…”DAD!  I GOT TO RIDE WITH MRS. DORIS FOR HER ENTIRE ROUTE!  I GOT TO SEE WHERE EVERYONE ELSE LIVES!  IT WAS GREAT!”  He had a blast.

Oh, to be as resilient as a 6 year old.

Late a usual…

Hi.  I am proud to be late to the blog party.  I resisted getting a cell phone until I had to around 2001.  My cell phone is a phone.  It doesn’t have a camera, bluetooth, an MP3 player or Internet access.  I use a Thinkpad T21 from 1999.  I own an 512MB iPod shuffle that can hold about 150 songs at a time.

As you can see, I might not be hip enough to write or maintain a blog.  It should be an interesting experiment.
