dia de los muertos: Macho Man
Dia de los Muertos is coming up November 2nd and I was asked by David “Shek” Vega to collaborate with him on an altar at the Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin, Texas (my home away from home). Dia de los Muertos celebrates or honors a person who has passed. Shek, who also runs gravelmouth art space (a space that showcases street art) put in the idea on the table to honor Macho Man Randy Savage, a wrestler in many wrestling federations in the late 80’s to 90’s.
Considering that I grew up on Macho Man and his slim jim commercials, I was all for it! Check out gravelmouths write up at: http://gravelmouthartspace.com/ and be on the look out for Mexic-Arte’s Dia de los Muertos celebration- Viva la Vida fest on October 22nd. Festivities begin at 10 AM.
