House and Wedding March 20, 2007
Posted by jpayne in : Home , trackbackJust spent a week moving into our new home. Closed on schedule on March 8th and we’re loving the new house. Couple of issues the builders have to finish in the spring, but nothing major. Next up is getting a pool constructed which we’re hoping will be usable by May 19th when we’re having a birthday/graduation/house warming party
I’m also now the owner of a gas BBQ (grill). What happened? It’s just so damned convinient to be able to fire the thing up and throw some meat on without having to worry about coals and getting them up to temp. I’m still going to have a good old reliable charcoal grill, but that’ll be down in the pool area.
Wedding update - the Save The Dates are out, and the Wedding Site is up with limited content. If you didn’t get a save the date card and magnet, I’m very sorry - but we’re having trouble keeping the numbers reasonable.

Gas BBQ???? - no such animal!!!
Charcoal is the ONLY way to BBQ - and you need beer/wine to keep the smoke out of your eyes!!
I completely agree, however, being able to step out onto the deck, fire up the gas and it being ready in a couple of minutes means I can now grill any time of the year, straight after work, without worry.
I do miss the charcoal, and it’ll be back, but down by the pool and bricked in
Gas BBQ?! Bloody “Americans”
New BBQ? Cool. I’ll ship you some cayenne pepper… for old times sake.
“bricked in”??? - that’s not good enough either!!!! i mean, where’s the element of risk?!
- why dont you get an extractor fan and a chimney added to the brickwork?? (sarc!)
the only way to keep the smoke out of you eyes is the time-honoured family tradition of “cold beer from a tin” (or, red wine in the case of emergencies!)
btw, i have not got access to email until the 17th….. moved house, had to get my own isp….. which wont get activated until the 17th….
